After we entering the Bandaranyaka Air Port 22-03-2008 got new experience. We started to fly to India 7.00 a.m. in one our we could get view in India. First we arrived in Chennai air port around 9.00 a.m When we look at the surrounding of Chennai air port we could see it is over crowed with traffic congestion. Next we had planned to fly to Pune city. We flew to Pune by Jet airways air craft about 2.00 p.m. While we were flying to pune on the way the air craft landed in Bangalore air port. It was a rainy day there. When fly above Maha Rastha area which is located Pune. It was a very dry area we could see run dried river, withered grass land, trees and creepers. There were huge rock pits which took stones to construct buildings. Any how we felt that there is a dry climate in pune. In Pune We changed our US dollars in to Indian rupees at Pune air port the value of one Us dollar was Indian rupees 37.40. Then we travelled to middle of the city in order to get our accommodation. Although we have heard that pune is famous for onions and chilies. But we felt that the climate is not so suitable for cultivation. There were high temperature, damaged roads, unclean people, bad smell and garbage heaps. So it was an unpleasant experience for us. Everybody had made colour body and the dress since it was the Holy day in Pune. Any how we could get a hotel to stay about 3.00 p.m.. We stayed there at that night. We travelled around the Pune on 22nd evening and 23rd morning. Small shops and large sign boards were common sight on the roads. International telephone calls are name as STD in India. The charge is 17 rupees per minute. There were thousand of motorcycles and three wheelers. Both men and women equally riding them. They usually don’t wear helmet and we astonished how they drive vehicle under minimum traffic rules. They have less facilities in their vehicles than Sri Lanka. The three wheeler have meters which indicate distance and charge. The busses don’t have glasses in the shutters. While we were walking along the city some far we could see very dirty people and large number of beggars. Everywhere is pleasant. The dry climate has enchance the unpleasant of the city. We laughed by looking a letter box which was hanging with a rope. We ordered meal for Indian Rs.50. It was consisted different strange but only the curd of them I had eaten early. It was not easy to eat them. We left the Maffoor hotel of Pune in order to participate for registration in Blue Diamond hotel for the IT conference of VIIT institute of Bharamathi city. Few young ladies wearing hand bags. They use banana spall for it. Always they communicate with IIT. IIT help for selling their products. Any how we left Alamadi finishing difficult journey.
